Damage to Foreward
Frame Assemby
The bottom of the forward keel looks like it was pulled
like a 'wishbone'. The bottom view shows
this better.

These were the peices that joined the keel ladder and
the longerons which are part of the forward frame assembly. The
wood is split, splintered and several pieces are missing.

These hinges were closed and the entire frame assmbly
was held closed with bungee cords. All the hinges are damaged
beyond repair.

These mounting points for the cross frame are now loosely
attached.

None of the joints between this plate and the wood
strips are intact.

Rivets are stripped, staples acted as initialion sites
for splits and cotter pins were sheared off. The Alaska Airlines
baggage handler looked at the pieces and the ripped bage and said:
"Those are sharp sticks of wood, no wonder
the bag ripped."
